Call for Papers | Guidelines for Submission

Continuing the spirit of the free philosophic inquiry that characterized the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, the Rose+Croix Journal is an on-line scholarly journal published annually at www.rosecroixjournal.org. The Rose+Croix Journal is an international, interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, peer-reviewed online journal that focuses on topics that relate to the sciences, history, the arts, mysticism and spirituality, especially interdisciplinary topics and transdisciplinary inquiries that traverse and lie beyond the limits of different fields of study. These topics may relate to any of the arts and sciences and/or to other emerging fields of human endeavor. Papers generally extend beyond the usual boundaries and incremental advances that often characterize scholarly research. Papers that expand our understanding of the natural laws around us are especially welcome.

In addition to remaining highly receptive to new findings and interpretations, the Rose+Croix Journal provides authors and institutions with exposure across disciplinary lines -- an exposure that is often pivotal in stimulating further scholarly research, particularly regarding -- but not limited to -- the relationship between science and mysticism, spirituality and esotericism. We welcome paper submissions from a wide range of perspectives, including anthropology, archaeology, art history, commerce and economics, cultural studies, esotericism, history, history of religions, literature, organizational studies, philosophy, religious studies, the sciences, sociology and others. The Rose+Croix Journal strives for balance between scholarly papers with broad appeal and scholarly papers that are highly specialized. We offer rapid review of papers. Although the peer-review process is thorough, it is usually completed within six weeks.

Papers published in the Rose+Croix Journalare expected to support their conclusions. At the same time, we recognize the need to evolve the conventional scientific method to be applicable to subjective experiences and reality, subtle energies, consciousness research, and extraneous variables that influence the repeatability of results.

The Rose+Croix Journal also encourages shorter contributions including brief comments on published papers and on other topics that are within the scope of the journal. These contributions are published as “Correspondence.” These shorter contributions will provide a continuing scholarly dialog on topics of interest.

Submission to the Rose+Croix Journal implies that the paper or other contribution has not been published elsewhere, has not been submitted to another publication, and will not be submitted to another publication during the time it is under consideration by the Rose+Croix Journal.
